A night in Vatel -an experience like no other.
Our batch, BS-IHM ID 108 are the first ones to have this opportunity to dine-in in Vatel with all our classmates and professors. The objective of this culminating activity is to ensure that students taking up Personality Development are surely learning from the way they dress, carry themselves, mingle with other people, start small talks, and eat. All of these are expected to be incredibly done in a formal setting.
A week before the activity, everyone was so excited and talking about what to wear during class hours. The day of the event, everyone has their own group on where to change clothes have their makeup done. After class, I went home and some of my classmates went with me to fix themselves. I did my Hair and makeup alone which is quite hard because I am not really that good in fixing myself. Good thing that we had a seminar in the same class with The Face Shop on how to properly apply makeup so more or less, we had idea on how to beauty ourselves.
Many of the students arrived a bit late because the weather isn’t so nice that evening but the event still started on time which is a good thing. There were two visitors from Alliance Frances du Manille that were invited to join the said event. They gave a speech and some trivia about French people’s culture and their way of living. Of course, there were a couple of professors in each table to evaluate the student and students aren’t also allowed to choose where to seat because the organizers were the ones who assigned the seating plan. After which comes the most awaited part and that is the dinner time. There were many courses and all of them were really fantastic. We took pictures of every course that were served to us for us to be able to save some memories of the first formal dining experience we had together. After that was the awarding and gift giving from The Body Shop. After that was the no-ending picture taking with the professors and with everyone else in the Vatel background. After the dinner, everyone went to the after party and that was really amazing because we had the chance to bond as a class without any home works and assignments.
The good thing about this culminating activity is that we as classmates were able to enjoy and at the same time did our school activity even without feeling that it is actually a school activity. We were able to experience to have a formal dinner so that in the future, we know how to do it so well. Also, we had the opportunity to dress up for such occasion. We were able to go out and have a night out with everyone. After that night, we became closer to each other.
Indeed, a night in Vatel is like no other.
